Friend is my real last name. My name is usually what people first pay attention to about me. Now that it’s out of the way, we can move to more important things.
I’m 25 years old and my “real” job is being a professional graphic designer. I can design logos, websites, print designs (magazines, brochures, annual reports), business cards, books, and more.
I have lived in Texas my entire life. I’m single with no kids, which means I have peace of mind and more free time than most.
I went to a community college and got an associate’s degree and…
I want to help some new and experienced Medium writers alike. Medium can be a strange platform to write for, which I know because I’ve been writing here for a few months with this profile and wrote quite a bit in the past with an older profile.
Here are some insights I’ve acquired about the platform from these journeys that I want to share with other writers so you have a better chance of being a successful writer here on Medium.
I deleted the previous account I had here after I realized it was going to actually take some effort…
Everyone dies. Even though many try to distract themselves from that fact by entertaining themselves on social media or starting a 6 hour marathon on YouTube, deep down they know the end of their earthly life will come.
What everyone doesn’t know that at least 3 persons every year are killed in insane and unlikely scenarios. These stories are reported to raise awareness to these and increase sensitivity to the bums who are desensitized by watching too much TV.
Johnny slept peacefully night after night in his barn without a care in the world. Until one day his pet cow…
Want to find out some helpful tips from a professional entrepreneur about how to make money online? I thought so.
Today’s world is full of people who want to make their own schedule and do what they love doing, all while sitting in their home watching their favorite sitcom episodes for the third time. Maybe not that last part, but if you’re reading this then the other points probably apply to you.
Whatever the title may have led you to believe, I actually do have a college degree. I’m happy I have it (I’m one of those nerds who actually…
Again I walk alone,
no companion beside me
no soul to hear
the hurt deep inside.
But there is hope,
I will not be ashamed
though I suffer affliction.
I will be lifted up,
above the despair
with brothers and sisters
standing together in the light.
I can hear the taunts of the Enemy,
saying to give in
telling stories of condemnation
that I will always be alone
there is no hope for the future.
But he is a liar,
he cannot stand in the truth
he will not endure judgment
he is cast down forever
his falsehood will be no more
the damnation of…
Do you want readers to enjoy what you write? I would think just about every writer would answer that question positively. Do you struggle to keep readers engaged in your work? This has been a challenge for me too, so I know how discouraging it is when it happens.
But there is something to be said about minimal reader engagement, namely, that it provides us an example to study and see where we might have gone wrong and what areas we can improve.
Over time I have found some writing techniques that help your writing engage with the audience. Please…
I’m a writer. That basically means I’m a thief. Like art, music, clothes, and parenting advice, somebody else has done it before. Instead of trying to make every piece sound new and never-before-seen, perhaps you should be more realistic and consider the possibility that maybe you are a very talented thief.
This can offer a different perspective on your ideas. It can be easy to become discouraged in writing.
You think that because the topic you’repassionate about isn’t exactly popular or “creative.” “If I can’t create something entirely new,” you say to yourself, “then maybe I shouldn’t write it at…
Have you ever sat down to write something, only to struggle with getting out a few paragraphs? You know what I’m talking about. You successfully write a few paragraphs, or maybe even a few pages, only to stare at your screen with a combination of discouragement and exasperation, saying, “This sucks. I don’t even know why I wrote this.”
Sometimes writing is challenging, not because sitting in the air conditioning and typing away is strenuous work, but because writing must always follow an idea, and ideas don’t always come easily. …

Oh, how delightful it is when there are fools to play with! Just earlier today I was able to torment that lukewarm husband his prude of a wife again.
It was easy enough. A mere whisper of the pleasures he could feel throughout his body was enough to awaken the illicit desire within him. It’s no wonder my family and I have been able to rip so many marriages apart — sometimes all we must do is point their innate evil desires towards destructive ends.
How easy that is…
“O Lord, you have searched me and known me!”
(Psalm 139:1, ESV).
“For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
(Hebrews 4:12, ESV).
God who searches hearts,
It is good to me when You give me a glimpse of myself.
Sin is my greatest evil,
You are my greatest good.
I have reason to despise myself,
To count myself as nothing,
And to not seek honor. …
